Ophthalmologists Treat Problems of the Eye
Ophthalmologists perform a variety of surgical procedures to treat problems of the eye, including cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. They also help patients with problems such as detached retinas, nearsightedness and some types of astigmatism. Eye surgeries are made easier with the help of lasers and fiberoptic equipment.
