What to Expect - Consultation
Your Vision, Your Goals and a Personalized Plan with a Consultation at Central Maine Plastic Surgery
Upon your first consultation at Central Maine Plastic Surgery, you may speak with a certified medical aesthetician, physician assistant or surgeon, depending on your needs. In your consultation, please tell us what you are looking to achieve so we can fully understand your hopes, goals and expectations. Once we get to know you, we can then offer a wealth of information and options to create and individualized care plan perfect for you.
For patients considering a surgical cosmetic procedure: We will need to know as much as possible about your lifestyle and medical history. When you come to your consultation, please be ready to discuss this information. We need to know what medications, vitamins and herbal supplements you take, as well as any allergies, illnesses, and past and present health issues you may have or had. This includes emotional issues such as depression or anxiety. Having a complete picture of you as a patient allows us to provide a unique, personalized plan to give you the best possible results.
Because cosmetic surgery is a highly personal experience, a successful surgery is truly about partnership and trust. We will discuss procedures and their outcomes, explaining what you need to do to prepare for surgery and recovery. Pease ask questions of our providers and staff at any time. Your knowledge and understanding will translate into a more successful surgery, better recovery and results you love.
For patients considering a surgical reconstructive procedure: We will need medical information past and present from your primary care provider. Many insurance companies have strict requirements for approving these medical procedures. If you have an HMO or managed care plan that requires referrals, it is your responsibility to obtain a referral before seeing one of our specialists. If applicable, we will submit your bill to your insurer following a prior authorization before surgery. If an insurance claim is submitted, you will receive a bill indicating the balance due after your claim is processed. Many of these procedures are covered by health insurance, although specific procedures and levels of coverage can vary.
Reconstruction is a highly personal and often an emotional experience for the patient and their loved ones. Although medical treatment and care of your condition is the focus, we want you to direct your care and have the best possible results. We will discuss procedures and their outcomes, explaining what you need to do to prepare for surgery and recovery. Pease ask questions of our providers and staff at any time.
Central Maine Plastic Surgery is committed to providing compassionate, confidential and exceptional care every step of the way.
