|Specimen: ||1 mL serum from a Red SST or Red top tube, or plasma from a Green PST. Patient Prep: Patient must be fasting and at complete rest for 30 minutes before blood collection.|
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Refrigerate within 3 hours of collection. Freeze serum/plasma within 8 hours of collection.
Unacceptable Conditions: Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.
