Specimen:     Nasopharyngeal swab specimens should be placed into Universal Transport Medium INFLUENZA (3 mL UTM Flu tubes).

Nasal washings in UTM Flu transport medium are also acceptable.

Samples should be transported at 2-8 °C. Samples may be stored for up to 72 hours at 2-8 °C before processing.
