Name:    B-Cell Memory and Naive Panel
Specimen:    5 mL plasma from a Green heparin tube. Do NOT use gel barrier tubes.
5 mL EDTA is also acceptable.

Send whole blood in the original container.

It would be best to collect the samples in the AM to make the noon courier. This is a time sensitive assay.

Clotted, refrigerated or frozen samples are unacceptable.
Minimum Spec:    3 mL
Transport Temp:    Store and transport sample at Room Temperature.
Spec Stability:    Stable 2 days ambient.

  Method:    Flow Cytometry
Note:    This test measures B-cells (CD19+), total memory B-cells (CD19+ CD27+), class switched memory B-cells (CD19+ CD27+ IgD-), non-switched/marginal zone memory B-cells (CD19+ CD27+ IgD+), and naive B-cells (CD19+ CD27-IgD+). This test is indicated for patients with suspected immune deficiencies, especially Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID), and to assess reconstitution of B-cell subsets after bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
Processing Info:    Specimens must be analyzed within 48 hours of collection.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Room temperature; Refrigerated is also acceptable.
