Specimen:    3 mL serum from a Red top tube. Do not use GEL barrier tubes. Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection and freeze the sample.

Patients taking calcineurin inhibitors should stop their medication 72 hours prior to the draw.

Patients on prednisone should be off of their medication 2 weeks prior to the draw.

Sample collected in serum separator tubes are unacceptable. Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic samples are unacceptable.

The first specimen is critical frozen. Separate specimens must be submitted for this panel.
