Source of the sample is mandatory.

Urine: If T. vaginalis is suspected, collect first void, particularly after prostatic massage in male patients. Specimen should be held at room temperature
Minimum Spec:    1 mL
Transport Temp:    Refrigerated
Spec Stability:    Stable 3 days refrigerated.

Filariasis, detection may occur in urine from patients with chyluria and patients treated with deithylcarbamazine.

Ambient and frozen samples received at the reference lab are unacceptable.
