Test can be performed also on 3 mL of bone marrow.
Write on the tube "peripheral blood" or "bone marrow".
Collect sample in the AM to make the noon courier run. The sample must reach the reference lab within 48 hours.
Serum or plasma is unacceptable. Clotted or frozen samples are unacceptable.

This reflex assay detects the presence of either the p210 (major breakpoint) or p190 (minor breakpoint). If the presence of either the p210 or p190 BCR-ABL1 fusion is detected, then the appropriate quantitative test will be performed.|
