Mnemonic:    [TSH]
Name:    Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Specimen:    1 mL serum from a Red SST or Red top tube. *SST preferred, PST acceptable, but not optimal as reflexive testing cannot be added to the TSH
Spec Stability:    Stable 5 days refrigerated.
Reference Range:    0.40 - 4.00 uIU/L
  Method:    Chemiluminescent Immunoassay
Note:    This method is ultrasensitive, third generation test, capable of detecting levels as low as 0.003 mIU/L.
Processing Info:    NOTE: A TSH can also be run off a heparinized sample, but we have the label defined as Red (Serum) since so often Free T4 and Free T3 are added and they can only be run off off a serum tube.
