Have Your Bags Packed for the Big Day!

Don't wait until the last minute to pack your bags for your due date! Estimating a due date is not an exact science –- and babies sometimes make their appearance ahead of schedule.

CMMC will provide you and your baby with many basic amenities, such as toiletries and sleeping wear. But we do encourage you to bring your own favorite personal care products (except those that are heavily scented) and bed clothes, which will make you feel more at home. Your partner may also want to pack some items, in the event of a sleep over.

Some suggestions:

Moms will want to pack their birth plan, (give your partner a copy as well), sleeping gear, (if you are planning to breastfeed, you'll need nursing bras and a special nightie), eye wear, a list of prescription medications, and anything you intend to use during labor. (For example, music and massage items.) You may also want to bring your camera, video equipment, an address book, a cell phone. When you pack, think of the things that will make you feel comfortable.

For your new baby, pack receiving blankets and clothes for the trip home. Be sure to use a mild soap when laundering your baby's clothes.
