CMMC Helps Parents Learn About Infant Care

Now that you are home with your new baby, life is very different. Infant care is one of the topics discussed in our Childbirth Education course, which is certainly a good reason to take the class!

We have many resources available to help you as you adjust to parenthood. New mothers might like to take a breastfeeding class and consider joining a breastfeeding support group.

Several state and federally-funded agencies offer special programs to families with newborns. The Maine Families Home Visiting program provides a home visitor who will visit with you and your family from pregnancy until your child is three years old. This program is free and is available to all. The home visitor is there to offer guidance and assistance for a range of issues.

Another program provides free Visiting Nurse visits. The nurse can help you by providing healthcare, resources and information about your baby’s wellness.

For more information about community programs that may be a resource, call the Special Delivery Family Birthing Center at 207-795-2530.

CMMC is designated Baby Friendly! Learn more about what that means for you and your baby. New Arrivals Online Gift Shop - The CMMC gift shop has the perfect gift for families welcoming new arrivals.
