Volunteer Services Junior Volunteer Program

This program is designed specifically for teenagers who have a desire to learn more about medical careers. Junior volunteer applications are accepted from March 15 through April 30. Interviews take place in May and orientation is offered in June. These young people volunteer up to 10 hours per week from July 1 through August 30 and arrangements can be made for them to continue with their volunteer work after school, during vacations, and on storm days during the school year.

Junior volunteers must submit a copy of their immunization records, a letter of reference, and permission slips with their application.

The Junior Volunteer Program is for mature teens who are willing to be responsible, independent and enthusiastic. Program space is limited and applicants must attend an interview for consideration.

Student internships, job shadowers and practicums

Students are encouraged to contact the Volunteer Department if they wish to take part in one or more of these activities. After a brief interview with the volunteers director, student are put in contact with a department manager who can coordinate the student's experience.

CMMC has a strict dress code for students: They must wear appropriate, clean attire -- no jeans or open-toe shoes. For shadowers, long hair must be tied up or pulled back and gum chewing is not allowed.
