Central Maine Medical Center has a strong commitment to providing an environment to foster research growth in the health sciences.
Research Administration is the initial point of contact for clinical research at Central Maine Medical Center. We assist physicians, nurses and staff to pursue clinical investigation, improve the overall quality of research, and facilitate new clinical investigation. We also work closely with outside sponsors to find experienced investigators for new studies.
The CMMC Institutional Review Board (IRB) is charged with reviewing and monitoring all biomedical and behavioral research involving human subjects. The purpose of an IRB review is to assure, both in advance and by periodic review, that appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of humans participating as subjects in a research study.
