Physician Specialties Neonatology

Neonatologists are pediatricians who care for premature and sick newborn infants. They provide direct patent care and consult with other physicians in planning for the care of mothers who have high-risk pregnancies. They also consult with general pediatricians as they routinely care for most newborns.

They are certified in the subspecialty of neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
