Patient Information


Central Maine Plastic Surgery’s patient-care team includes board-certified plastic surgeons and a surgical physician assistant. We offer patients a variety of cosmetic procedures of the face, breast, buttocks, extremities and abdomen, as well as reconstructive procedures, scar revision, lesion removal and carpal tunnel release. A variety of non-surgical procedures and skin treatments such as injectable facial fillers, Botox, microdermabrasion, and skin peels are some of the other services we provide.

Office Hours

We strive to be responsive to your health care needs. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In the event of urgent needs, our on-call physician can be reached at all times. 


If you have an HMO or managed care plan that requires referrals for any service other than those from your primary care provider, it is your responsibility to obtain a referral and authorization before seeing one of our specialists. Insurance companies no longer allow referrals made after the visit to the specialist. You will be responsible for the bill if you have not obtained a referral.


Each appointment is made for a specific time, so we ask each patient be on time for his or her appointment. If you are late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. This will be decided on a case by case basis.

Payment for Services

Payment and or co-pays are expected at the time of service. If applicable, we will submit your bill to your insurer. Please bring your insurance card to every appointment. 
If an insurance claim is submitted, you will receive a bill indicating the balance due from you after claim is processed. To better assure proper payment, please notify the Patient Financial Services office of any insurance change by calling 795-2967.

Cancellation of Appointments

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call at least 24 hours before to cancel and reschedule. This allows us to adjust our care provider’s schedule. If you must cancel on the day of the appointment because of an emergency, please call as soon as possible. Failure to notify us of a cancellation of your appointment is considered a missed appointment. Repeat missed appointments will result in discharge from the practice.


Prescription refill request must be done Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Friday between 8 a.m. and noon. When possible, please call the office when you have one week of medication left. Otherwise, please contact the office at least two business days in advance for all prescription refill requests to allow the nurse and the care provider time to process the request. The office will contact you only if there are questions about your request.

After Hour Calls

If your medical need is urgent and cannot wait until the office opens, patients may reach the on-call care provider by calling 795-6543. The answering service will page the provider to call you. Please unblock your phone line to allow the physician to call you back.

The on-call care provider will not take after hours calls regarding refills and appointments.

Release of Information to Spouse or Family Member

Patient confidentiality laws require you to sign a release before your care provider can talk with your spouse, family member or anyone else about your care. If you would like to have such a release sent to you, please contact our office to request one. 

Medical Records

A signed authorization release is required for the release of any medical records. We do whatever is necessary to ensure the privacy of our patients. We reserve the right to charge a fee for copying of medical records. If you are transferring to our office from another physician’s office, please have your medical records forwarded to our office.

Patient Satisfaction and Policy   Regarding Cosmetic Revision

Our goal is your satisfaction. Plastic and cosmetic surgery is an art based in science. Perfection, while always the goal, is rarely achieved. We strive for the best outcomes possible, but occasionally dissatisfaction with a result occurs.  Working with you, your surgeon may recommend a revision to help achieve your goals for the procedure. Depending on the circumstances, the revision may be done at additional cost to you. In rare circumstances your surgeon may offer you a reduced or no cost revision within six months of your procedure.
