Cosmetic Enhancement - Non-surgical Cosmetic Enhancements
Central Maine Plastic Surgery Offers Many Non-surgical Cosmetic Enhancement Procedures
Central Maine Plastic Surgery has many cosmetic procedures available that will enhance appearance, without surgery.
Among the procedures we offer are:
Injectable face fillers, such as Botox ® and Juvéderm®.
Botox ® is a protein that is injected to facial areas with deep lines and wrinkles. The injections are used with a very fine needle, and do not require anesthesia. The Botox ® treatment lasts, on average, four to six months, but that can vary with each individual.
Juvéderm® is an injectable filler that includes a natural acid (hyaluronic acid) a complex sugar naturally occurring in the body that decreases with age. It improves the skin's elasticity, and may be used to improve deep skin folds and wrinkles and to enhance lips and cheeks. Treatments may last six months to a year, depending upon the individual.
Latisse® is the trade name of a prescription product used for hypotrichosis, a condition of a loss or reduction of hair. Latisse® is used to thicken and darken eyelashes.
Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation procedure that "freshens" the skin, usually the face. The health professional removes the top layer of skin in a painless procedure. The process removes sun-damaged skin and dead skin cells. Some of the benefits may include removing very fine lines, and also allowing other skin care products to work more effectively.
Skin peels are also known as chemical peels, or chemexfoliation, or derma peeling. We apply a solution to the skin, usually the face, but it can also be done to the neck or hands. Peels are a several-step process that may require several visits. The goal is to make the skin appear smoother and younger, by removing a variety of imperfections such as age spots, acne, scars, rough patches, etc.
