Alan S. Harmatz, M.D.

Dr. Alan S. Harmatz

Dr. Harmatz has proudly practiced medicine in Maine since 1988. Upon completion of general surgery training at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Dr. Harmatz traveled south to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. to obtain his plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship. Working at CMPS from 1998-2000, he returned to the practice in 2010 to help re-establish a plastic surgery department for the residents of Central Maine.

He is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Harmatz has trained residents and fellows in general and plastic surgery. Past roles include academic appointments at the University of Vermont and the Lahey Clinic. He also has previous surgical experience at Plastic and Hand Surgical Associates in South Portland. Dr. Harmatz has taken his expertise and experience to developing nations, helping sick patients and training local surgeons in Peru, Nepal and Vietnam.

In his free time, Dr. Harmatz enjoys writing fiction, biking, kayaking and spending time in Florida with his family.

Charles E. Foley, M.D.

Dr. Charles E. Foley

Dr. Foley completed his general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington and his plastic surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA, followed. He is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Foley brings years of extensive experience in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He works with our Otolaryngologists on head and neck cancer reconstruction and has a special interest in microsurgery.

In the past, Dr. Foley has served as the Regional Director of the craniofacial team for the Division of Children's Special Services in Eastern Tennessee, and as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee.

When he is not at work, Dr. Foley enjoys organic farming and spending time with his draft horses.

Sarah Holland

Dr. Sarah W. Holland

Dr. Holland is a graduate from Cornell University Medical College. She then completed her residency in Plastic Surgery and a craniofacial fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Prior to joining CMPS in 2014, Dr. Holland was on the academic faculty of Columbia University in New York City and then moved to Maine in 2006 to start a private practice. Following her time in private practice, she worked for York Hospital. Dr. Holland brings the highest standards of medical excellence to procedures of the breast, body and face to CMPS. Her thorough consultations address all questions until full satisfaction is reached, and she makes every patient feel at ease.

Dr. Holland prides herself on warmth, compassion and professionalism. She performs each procedure with an aesthetic eye and meticulous attention to detail.

In her free time, Dr. Holland enjoys spending time with her family, sailing, biking, and skiing.

Sarah Greven

Sarah P. Greven, MS, PA-C

A native of Maine, Sarah earned her Master of Physician Assistant degree at the University of New England in Portland, ME, and her BA from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. She is board certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of Maine as a Surgical Physician Assistant. Sarah is a member of the Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Sarah joined the CMMC family in 2007 and worked in the General and Trauma Surgery Department prior to joining Central Maine Plastic Surgery in 2011.

Sarah lends her unique training and experience by assisting in the Operating Room, providing preoperative and postoperative patient care, performing screening skin checks and performing in-office surgical procedures for minor skin lesions and scars. She is also trained in non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including Botox®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, Voluma® XC, facial peels and is a certified IPL/Laser technician.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and boating.
