Meet The Providers at Central Maine Plastic Surgery

Charles E. Foley, MD
Charles E. Foley, M.D.

Dr. Foley, a native of Connecticut, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. He followed this with plastic surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester Massachusetts. He is a board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery by the American Board of surgery

In the past, he has served as the regional director of the craniofacial team for the Division of Children's Special Services in eastern Tennessee. He was also an associate professor of surgery in at the Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Dr. Foley brings extensive experience in reconstructive, breast, hand, and cosmetic surgery to Central Maine Medical Center. He is currently the only microsurgeon practicing in Maine and is works with our Otolaryngologists on head and neck cancer reconstruction.

When he is not at work Dr. Foley enjoys working with his draft horses while rebuilding his organic farm.


Alan S. Harmatz, MD
Alan S. Harmatz, M.D.

Dr. Harmatz has practiced in Maine since 1988. He practiced at CMMC from 1998-2000, then left to join Plastic and Hand Surgical Associates in South Portland. He returned to CMMC in 2010 to help re-establish a plastic surgery department for the residents of central Maine.

Dr. Harmatz completed his general surgery training at Maine Medical Center in Portland, and went to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Vermont for his plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship.

He has trained residents and fellows in surgery and plastic surgery for his entire career. His experience includes academic appointments at the University of Vermont and the Lahey Clinic. He has also taken his expertise and experience to developing nations, helping patients and training local surgeons in countries including Peru, Nepal and Vietnam.


Sarah P. Greven, P.A.-C
Sarah Green, P.A.-C.

Sarah, a native of Turner, earned her physician assistant degree at the University of New England in Biddeford.

She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of Maine as a surgical Physician Assistant.

Sarah was practicing with the general and trauma surgery department at CMMC prior to her transition to plastic surgery in 2011.

At Central Maine Plastic Surgery, Sarah assists in the operating room and provides preoperative and postoperative patient care. She is also trained in providing non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including Botox ® and Juvaderm ®.
