Women's Health

Central Maine Medical Center offers the widest range of women's healthcare services of any healthcare organization in the central and western Maine region.

CMMC's women's healthcare provider team includes obstetrician-gynecologists, certified nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners and other professionals. These care providers see patients at the offices of Central Maine Obstetrics-Gynecology and The Women's Specialty Center. They also care for inpatients at CMMC, including families welcoming a new arrival at the Special Delivery Family Birthing Center. Providing an additional level of medical support is the Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit, a special care nursery for premature or seriously ill babies.

Other services designed especially for women include the Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center, The Osteoporosis Center, and The Bladder Control Center.

Specialty services include infertility counseling and the Boston IVF Clinic that is sponsored by the Women's Specialty Center. Many women experiencing menopause seek assistance from healthcare providers at Central Maine Obstetrics-Gynecology or The Women's Specialty Center.
