MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be used in combination with mammography in women with very dense breast and are at high risk of hereditary breast cancer. MRI produces high quality images generated by using a magnetic field and radio waves while a patient lies inside a cylinder.

This procedure is performed at Central Maine Imaging Center, located at 287 Main Street Plaza in Lewiston, just across the street from Central Maine Medical Center.
