Otolaryngologists |
Otolaryngologists diagnose and treat such problems as ear disease, sinusitis, tonsillitis, snoring and cancer. They perform surgeries on the ear, including reconstructing or replacing damaged bones with prostheses, patching ruptured eardrums, and inserting middle ear ventilation tubes. ENT surgeons perform surgery of the face, both for removing lesions, improving appearance, and repairing injuries caused by trauma. They do tracheotomies, a surgical procedure in which an opening is made in the windpipe and fitted with a tube in order to improve airflow to the lungs or remove secretions.
