Works of Two Photographers on Dispay at CMMC Woman's Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery

The works of two photographers are on display at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman's Hospital Association (WHA) Rotating Art Gallery through June 5.

Photographs by Timothy Amero and Renee D'Alessandro are on display in the Main Lobby at CMMC, near the 60 High Street entrance.

"For me retirement has been an opportunity to return to my roots and explore nature through the lens of my camera. By displaying pictures of birds, insects, reptiles, arachnids, and mammals, I hope to create an appreciation for all forms of life. Furthermore, rivers, streams, brooks, ponds, lakes and even beaver dams provide the ecosystems necessary for these critters to thrive, so I also spend a lot of time taking photos of these," says Amero.

D'Alessandro is a self-taught photographer who enjoys portraiture, especially of pets, as well as landscape and nature photography.

"What started as a way to document life with children transformed into a passionate and gratifying hobby and creative outlet," says D'Alessandro. "Pet photography, particularly dogs, is of great interest to me because pets are fun to work with, it's challenging, and it enables me to relay their emotion and energy. As much as I enjoy landscape and nature photography, my goal was to hone my pet photography skills in order to communicate and bring more attention to pets' personalities and attributes."
