How You Can Make a Difference…
Contributions to CMMC’s Annual Fund provides critical financial support for healthcare services of a regional tertiary center while retaining the compassionate touch of a community-based hospital. All gifts are used within the year they are given and immediately benefit the area to which they are directed. Each year, Annual Fund gifts strengthen and enhance one or more of the following services and programs.

The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing
The Dempsey Center is an integral part of cancer care at the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center at CMMC and at our affiliated cancer clinics at Bridgton and Rumford Hospitals. Individuals and families affected by cancer benefit from the education, support and wellness services that are offered to the community at no cost.

Emergency Department and Laboratory Expansion
Over 50,000 patients are treated at the Central Maine Medical Center Emergency Department each year. CMMC is the home base for LifeFlight of Maine and is one of three designated trauma centers in Maine. To meet the growing needs of our region, CMMC recently began a two-year, $45 million construction-renovation project that will substantially expand and modernize both the Emergency Department and Laboratory.

Cardiac Care
The Central Maine Heart & Vascular Institute’s scope of services includes an integrated outreach and primary prevention program, comprehensive diagnostics, cardiac interventional services, including angioplasty and open-heart surgery and other important heart-health activities.

Arbor House
Arbor House, the CMMC hospitality house, offers a home away from home for families of hospitalized patients and for individuals undergoing long-term outpatient treatment. Arbor House, which is largely supported through private and public donations, allows patients and families to be near each other during periods of medical crisis.

LifeFlight of Maine
Whether responding to the scene of an accident or transferring patients from community hospitals to major trauma centers, LifeFlight cares for 1,400 critically ill or injured patients each year. As a non-profit organization, it depends on the generosity of people like you.

Patient Financial Assistance Fund
In difficult times friends or neighbors may find themselves in challenging economic straits, unfortunately having to make the choice between basic needs and medical care. This fund helps people pay for medical care when they need it.

Pediatric Care
Your gift helps us purchase needed equipment for our youngest patients. It also helps to provide those “little extras” that are so important to care, such as toys and comfortable furniture.
