|Name: ||Glucose Fasting, Random or Post-prandial|
|Specimen: ||1 mL serum from a Red SST or Red top tube, or plasma from a Green PST. Deliver to the lab immediately or centrifuge the sample within one hour of collection.|
If not collected in a serum separator tube (SST), the serum/plasma must be placed in a separate, correctly labeled sample tube.
|Reference Range: ||70 - 100 mg/dL (Fasting)|
|Critical Range: ||< 50 or > 500 mg/dL|

For fasting specimens indicate the number of hours since the patient has been fasting.
For post-prandial samples indicate how many hours since the previous meal was ingested.
