Name:    Hepatitis B Core Antibody, Total (HBcAb)
Specimen:    1 mL serum from a Red SST or Red top tube. Serum is the preferred sample for Hepatitis testing.

Samples should be frozen (-20C or below) if testing will not be completed within 48 hours. Repeated freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided as this can cause analyte deterioration.
Minimum Spec:    0.5 mL
Transport Temp:    Refrigerated
Spec Stability:    Stable 2 days refrigerated.
Reference Range:    Negative
  Method:    Chemiluminescent Immunoassay
Note:    Tests for Total IgG and IgM antibodies; does not differentiate.

EDTA and citrated plasma may also be used.
