Susan Hamel
Director of Employee Health

Susan received her B.S. in Medical Technology from Quinnipiac University, completing her clinical internship at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. She received her Masters in Business from Husson University, and is certified as a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Susan’s focus at Central Maine Healthcare is the health and wellbeing of staff, with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. As a member of the Wellness Center team, Susan brings expertise to offerings for our community partners and members. Susan is an avid supporter of youth sports and has been a coach for Youth Soccer, Basketball and Baseball since 2004. Susan is a Board Certified Basketball Official (IAABO).



Nate Littlefield
Wellness Center Supervisor

Nate received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Southern Maine’s Sports Medicine program, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2005. He has spent the last five years in the corporate wellness industry, working as a personal health coach, trainer, and supervisor. Nate sees preventive care and healthy living as critical components in healthcare, and his primary focus is assisting others to find the motivation to reach their personal health and wellness goals.



Jodi Cornelio
Health & Wellness Educator

Jodi Cornelio is an instructor, nutritionist and personal trainer. Prior to joining CMMC Jodi operated her own wellness center where she and her staff coached, counseled and trained over 250 clients. Jodi earned her undergraduate degree in nutrition from the University of Maine and her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Thomas College in Waterville. Jodi is Nationally Certified as a Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is nationally certified in Holistic Health Practices, Hatha Yoga and Pilates through International Sports Medicine Association (ISMA).



Marcy Covey
Instructor

Marcy grew up dancing and singing in Vermont. She graduated from Oberlin College and went on to create an exercise/wellness program for North County Hospital in Newport, VT. Marcy created the first Wellness programs here at CMMC under the name "Healthy Start". She also designed and managed the Wellness Center from 1995 until December 2002. Marcy is certified in first aid, CPR, Ropes Course Facilitation, Lifeguarding, Lifeguard instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Cross Country Skiiing, and a variety of exercise modes. Marcy is a practitioner of Thai Yoga Bodywork, which helps to balance energy, increase flexibility and relax those who receive it. She is currently instructing Fit and Fun, an exercise class for Seniors; Wellness for Life (for cancer patients and survivors) and Yoga.



Susan Driscoll
Instructor

Sue is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for group exercise and Personal Training. She is also CPR certified. A group exercise instructor for over 20 years, Sue has been with the Wellness Center for the past 15 years. She currently teaches Step Aerobics and Personal Fitness and leads the “Happy Hearts Classses, a cardiac maintenance exercise program.



Rick Jalbert
Personal Health Counselor

Rick has made physical fitness a part of his daily life for over twenty five years. His passion for exercise and fitness was his inspiration in becoming certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. As a Certified Personal Trainer, Rick aspires to empower others in achieving improved fitness and a healthy lifestyle. He is also a group exercise instructor with a focus on functional training and is CPR certified.



Elizabeth Lachapelle
Health Fitness Specialist

Liz is a personal health counselor and received a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2005. She was born and raised in Boston, and worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach under Mike Boyle before attending college. In the Wellness Center, she performs Job Placement Assessments, group fitness instruction, and general orientations. She has also been trained to perform Tri-Fit and Scorekeeper assessments, both for general physical health and for potential disease risk.



Heather Small
Health Fitness Specialist

Heather received a Bachelors degree in Health Science, Health Promotion and Fitness from Keene State College in 2007. In the Wellness Center, she performs Job Placement Assessments, orientations, instructs group exercise classes and is a certified AFAA Personal Trainer. Heather is also trained in ScoreHealth and does outreach health and wellness programs with different local community businesses.



Nanette Thibeault-Shedd
Administrative Assistant

Nanette received her medical secretarial certification from the Cumberland School of Medical Technology in Nashville, TN. She has worked in the medical field for over 20 years and brings to the Wellness Center a variety of experience and skills. She was born in Maine though travelled extensively with her military family, spending her teens in Hawaii. In the Wellness Center she performs an array of duties, including registration, mini-orientations, scheduling, and a variety of other administrative functions.
