Wellness Solutions Outreach and Prevention

The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute's Prevention and Outreach service is designed to introduce individuals to the concept of good "heart health." But as importantly, the service also seeks to identify those who might be at risk for developing cardiovascular disease.

CMHVI's primary prevention activities are designed to help people adopt a "heart healthy" lifestyle. A secondary prevention program assists those who have cardiovascular disease, in reducing their chances of having another.

The CMHVI Wellness Van delivers cardiac prevention and screening services to area communities. Visitors to the van can participate in health assessments and talk with health professionals about decreasing their risks.
