The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute’s Prevention and Outreach service is designed to introduce individuals to the concept of good “heart health.” But as importantly, the service also seeks to identify those who might be at risk for developing cardiovascular disease.

CMHVI’s primary prevention activities are designed to help people adopt a “heart healthy” lifestyle. A secondary prevention program assists those who have suffered a heart attack in reducing their chances of having another.
