Women's Heart Advantage |
The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute is one of a growing number of healthcare organization nationwide focusing on the No. 1 health problem confronting women: cardiovascular disease.
Heart disease is the top cause of death among women in the United States, striking more women than the next seven causes of death combined. But many women are not aware of this. By encouraging women to learn the early warning signs of heart disease and talk to their physicians, many lives will be saved.
Through the Women's HeartAdvantage program, CMHVI embarked on a long-term commitment to educate women and physicians about the particular needs of women who may be experiencing symptoms of heart disease.
