Comfort Care

CMMC is committed to providing compassionate and personalized care to the patient and the family during this time of transition. The CMMC Comprehensive Cancer Care Program’s team of caregivers has special training in meeting the unique needs of dying patients. The Comfort Care process recognizes the importance of involving the patient and family in the development of the care plan. At CMMC, caregivers empower patients and families to participate in end of life care.

Comfort Care assures ongoing pain management and symptom control that is individualized to each patient. Maintaining the patient’s optimal physical, psychological and spiritual status is a Comfort Care objective.  And remaining sensitive to and supportive of personal, cultural and religious values, beliefs and practices is central to the Comfort Care philosophy. 

Through ongoing communication and thoughtfully coordinated care, care providers at CMMC help patients and families experience the dying process with dignity and compassion.
